Dr. Chizoba Ugwummadu

Dr. Chizoba Ugwummadu is one of the youngest sons of Teacher Augustine Ugwummadu and Mrs Rose Ugwummadu of blessed memory. He is a Hospitalist and the Vice-Chair of Hospital Medicine Division at Kettering Health, Ohio, USA. Dr. Ugwummadu has expertise in healthcare quality and safety and has an immense passion in healthcare quality and safety, knowledge acquisition and driving excellence. His strong desire in excellence led him to conduct a quality initiative in reducing device-related surgical site infection at Kettering Health that helped Jefferson College of Population Health of the Thomas Jefferson University to win a national award, the CAHME/Regina Herzlinger National Award on Innovation in Education in 2022, and was recognized by Modern Healthcare. As the vice-chair of the hospital medicine division, he oversees and ensures evidence-based clinical practice of physicians as well as patient-centered care delivery.
Dr Ugwummadu received a medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria; a masters degree in health promotion at King’s College London, UK; residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, USA and subsequently another masters degree in healthcare quality and safety management at Jefferson College of Population Health. He was a former adjunct clinical professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and currently an adjunct faculty at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health in the Healthcare Quality and Safety Program.
He is married with three children. He loves swimming, soccer and traveling.
